The Seidio battery showed up today, as expected, and came with about a 40% charge. I charged it fully and as of 7pm it’s un-plugged from the charger. I’m not going to plug it back in until it gets unbearably low. So now we use and wait…

I did some research the other day to see if there are any extended batteries for the Treo 700w, as the 1800mAh stock battery just can’t survive a day without a boost of energy. I had dreaded doing this, because previous phones required me to get a new battery door and thus have to cart around a bigger phone.
Much to my surprise, this was not the case with the Treo 700w. There is a 2200mAh battery available, and more recently a 2400mAh from Seidio became available. I ordered one yesterday so we’ll see how it works out. The cool thing is that it is a direct replacement for the stock battery — meaning it is the exact same size, just heavier. So I didn’t have to get a new battery door. They claim it gives you 33% longer talk time. I’ll let y’all know how well it works out!

I bought a cheap-ass POS cradle for my Treo a few months ago from eBay. Plugging and un-plugging my Treo all day long eventually wore it out. The contact piece of plastic (male end) that is part of the cradle got pushed down so far yesterday that it rendered the cradle useless. I can pry it up with tweezers, but it is no use… it just pushes back down again. It’s a “PDA Cradle” and I can no longer find it on eBay, probably for that reason. Time to shop for a new one!

I have been suffering with my home screen telling me that I’ve had unread messages in two pop accounts as well as Outlook. I tried everything to resolve it, short of microwaving my phone. 1 message was invisible in one of my POP accounts, and in another it was visible (spam) but I couldn’t delete it, move it, forward it, or even open it. I was able to solve the message count sync issues with my two POP accounts by removing the accounts, then re-creating them. However with Pocket Outlook, it wasn’t so easy!
The solution is this handy little Freeware application called FixUnreadCount v1.0 (beware of pop-up hell at that site). Just copy the .exe to your memory card (I just copied it to my memory card’s root folder), then run it from your File Explorer. It will display a bunch of useless information on your screen, then complete. Next thing you know, all is well with the world once again. Try it out!
BTW, I have used this utility on both my Palm Treo 700w and my Motorola Q. It solves the problem every time!
