Mainly so that I can drop an extra web host that I don’t need to pay $20/mo for, I’ve moved chrisTHIS.com to my own server, moving from a Unix host to my Windows server. This required a few tweaks to my site, hence the new theme.

chrisWHERE!?
March 24th, 2009
As you may have noticed, I have all but completely abandoned this blog in lieu of keeping friends and family updated through other social networking tools such as Twitter and Facebook. From time to time I’ll hopefully update christhis.com with something useful!
If you’re wondering what I’ve been up to, well it’s been family, work, and my weekend passion of hosting and producing my own TV show called MOTORZ which can be seen on TiVo, iTunes, Zune, the motorz.tv website, and 20+ other places. It’s an automotive DIY show and is doing extremely well! A new episode comes out every two weeks. I love the educational/instructional format and evidently so do others!
So please check me out at MOTORZ TV!
San Diego Fires
October 23rd, 2007
OMG what a crazy few days. First, the fire started Sunday in East County and we kept a close watch on it, knowing that I had a Monday morning flight with Frozone to go to Michigan for a two-day Ford truck media event. We made the decision early Monday morning to go ahead with my trip, as it looked like the fire was going to avoid our neighborhood. Unfortunately soon after I arrived in Michigan, Krissy called to let me know that mandatory evacuations were announced. Since we just went through this exercise 4 years ago during the Cedar fire, she knew exactly what to pack into the truck and took off to her Aunt’s house with the girls and the dogs.
About 24 hours later (Tuesday afternoon), my family was allowed back to our house. No damage in the immediate area, and surprisingly there wasn’t much more ash here than before I left. The fires are still burning all around San Diego County, but thankfully, none that are close by. Everyone that I know in San Diego is safe, including friends in Poway and Romona; two areas that were hit hard. All San Diego schools are closed this week for obvious reasons, mainly because of the poor air quality.
On the way to Michigan (Monday morning, 8:30am) I took a few photos from my window seat on the plane (see below). On the way home tonight we could see fires still burning from the air, but nothing impressive enough for a photo.

Blog merger
August 30th, 2007
What happened to Fully Converged? Simply put, I couldn’t maintain all the websites and blogs I own. It got too crazy, so I found myself concentrating on one site/blog for a while, then ignoring it for a while while I worked on my other sites. I couldn’t take it any longer!
So, FullyConverged.com has blended with my personal blog to become one place where I can blog to my heart’s content about anything AND everything. So if you were following Fully Converged, please stick around and watch for my random posts on mobile technology, and enjoy my new insane banter about my other hobbies and my family.
So without further adieu, I present to you my new personal blogspace… chrisTHIS!
Fully Converged Version 2.0
June 23rd, 2007
I don’t really know what version this is, but 2.0 sounds good enough. I just switched over from Blogger to WordPress on my own server to have more control over my blog. I’m so glad that I did… WordPress is pretty damn cool! Their blog import tool imported all of my Blogger posts and comments in just a few seconds. That saved me a ton of time.
With this change I’ll be posting more articles and product reviews which is something I never got around to doing as often as I wanted to with the old Blogger blog.
If you had subscribed to my RSS feed at my old blog, please be sure to subscribe to the new feed here!
Along with the server and software change comes a new site design (I hope you like it) and a much-needed update to the About page (I even through my mug shot up there so you can put a face to the blog). Click the link to the About page or click my mug to find out more about me and why I made this blog.
Thank you for reading!
Chris
